sweaters, shoes and snow!

Lately I have been bugging my sister to wear her beautiful shoes and since she let me, I could not resist taking a few photos! Since I am not home I could only pair them with what I had which was black leggings and my current favorite sweater.
I bought this sweater at udobuy and have been wearing it excessively since it has arrived x

These were taken whilst visiting my grandparents, right on the road in front of their house; I'd wanted to take some in the back yard (they have a breathtaking yard) but the snow was much too deep and would have been up to my knees!
Anyway, it's new years eve tomorrow and I'm very excited for it. I will try and take as many photos as I can x

A collection of frozen treasures

One of my very favorite things is waking up on a chilled morning and looking out the window to find that everything is frosted over. Living in Ontario, with all the trees and trails, this makes it such a beautiful sight.
This happened the other morning, and I could not resist the chance to go out and venture into the cold to gather some shots of any frozen treasures I might find. Walking along the trails, the sun was shining brightly, illuminating tiny snowflakes falling like sparkles from the sky. The whole world was frozen yet aglow and I felt as though I was someplace magical.

I went along the water for my adventure and although I've lived here my whole life, I've never seen the place so beautiful and full of snow. Especially on trees and branches hanging just above the stream, the snow clings beautifully and it took my breath away!
The bridge bellow was my favorite sight of all; it literally looks as though the bridge was constructed out of snow as if something out of Narnia x
Well, that's all for now; I've still got about a week before I head back to classes so I expect to be updating quite often before then!

Merry Chritmas

It's Christmas Eve, and this holiday season is passing beautifully. Somehow, every year it gets better; the food, the parties, the ongoing traditions, it all fills me with such nostalgia and joy ^.^ It's getting late and I can't sleep in anticipation for tomorrow morning; I am forever child-like on Christmas morning, because it is always magical.
^.^

Well, the build-up to christmas has been wonderful so far, and I'm sure the holidays will only get better. I hope yours are as lovely as mine have been!

the snow faerie

Yesterday a friend of mine threw a little christmas party; I snapped these photos before going :)
The sun was getting ready to set and cast a lovely purple color along the water that made me very excited to do these photos, despite the chilled air. Not to mention the fact that I'd bought this lovely dress a couple of months ago and was saving it for a special occasion and finally found one that was suitable enough for it.
The cardigan and metallic belt are thrifted
The dress was an unexpected find from American Eagle
the flower crown is from an etsy shop called PeacockandLotus that you can find here

Well, tomorrow is christmas eve and that is when the true celebrating begins; I can't wait!
Have a lovely holiday ^.^

This December...

This month has truly been special. The anticipation of the holidays puts me in a magical mood.
Snow has fallen a great deal this month, sprinkling its sparkling beauty on anything is can stick to. December is when I enjoy snow the most since I usually tire of it pretty quickly after New Years.
I've decided to share some of the things I've been enjoying this month ^.^

Holiday themed pastries and goodies!

My heart tights have been thoroughly worn in with love this month.
Along with my coffee and tea addiction, I've added hot chocolate to it, since I have been drinking it religiously as of late.
Snow adventures with the ones I love most x

Cozy Sweaters ^.^
Quiet, snowy mornings
Last but not least, tree decorating and gift wrapping with the roomates!
I truly hope your December has been as lovely as mine, happy holidays!

bye-bye pink

It is time to let the pink go. I truly loved it, but it's too much upkeep.
As not to further damage my hair, I'm avoiding trying to go to my natural color (strawberry blond) because I would have to bleach it again, then dye it and blahblahblah; so instead I went a little darker, somewhat of an auburn color I suppose. When the dye fades, it will be fairly light, and won't look too silly when my natural color grows in :)

In these, I am wearing one of my new favorite sweaters. This color has been on my mind for quite some time now, and when I saw this sweater, I immediately had to have it. It's so cozy and baggy, perfect for the winter months!

The weather is seemingly colder, and there's more snow coming in, which is fantastic. The snow makes me very excited for the holidays! I hope you are all having as many snow adventures as I am ^.^

DIY studded vest

A little project to share with you guys ^.^

So I recently decided to get a little creative and make myself a studded vest. I love the way it turned out and have decided to share everything with you!

You will need:

1- A denim vest; you could easily go to any thrift shop and find a vest or even a denim jacket and cut off the sleeves :)
2- Studs! Which you could probably find in a craft shop, or even ebay for a really good price if you don't mind the wait.

What I did:
The process is very easy, the main thing is to know exactly what you're aiming for. For example, I started with embellishing the collar of my vest a little:

At first my plan was to stud the entire collar, but after having only put ten on each side, I really liked the look of it and decided to use the remainder for the back of the vest to create a studded cross.
To make sure the cross was straight and even, I first drew it out with pencil onto the material before adding the studs:

Finished product:

Well, that's all there is to it. It was pretty fun, and I'm very happy with the end result; it's definitely inspired me to do more fun projects like this ^.^
